ELoMed™'s biodegradable face masks are the first of their kind. Made from renewable plant resources like corn, cassava, sugar cane, and sugar beet - ingredients you can actually pronounce. ELoMed™ stands for a quality standard: simple, smart, and sustainable. We believe these three pillars are an interrelated system that support a long-term vision for making protection accessible to individuals while protecting the environment at the same time. We are a woman-owned, minority-owned and operated small business in the USA on a mission to reduce plastic waste and create a new vision for the future of the environment within this new normal. Our biodegradable masks are created with thoughtful consumerism in mind from the raw materials to the packaging - even our shipping labels are compostable!

Since 2020, millions of poorly designed facemasks have been worn once and tossed out. In even the best case scenario, those face masks end up in landfills, contributing to the already astronomical amount of waste on our planet. When improperly discarded, those flimsy face masks make their way into our precious ecosystems that are already overwhelmed with trash.

These masks are also often mass manufactured and heavily imported. Most of the disposable face masks that have been used and discarded come from large factories overseas that often partake in unsafe handling procedures using chemically-induced materials that contain formaldehyde and other carcinogens. During a time when health is paramount, you cannot risk receiving an item that you aren’t confident is 100% safe - and you certainly should never have to inhale chemicals that could be coating your mask.

Our face masks are made in the USA and reflect made in the USA manufacturing procedures and ethics. We believe true sustainability isn’t only environmental but human too. We participate in fair working and business practice and the use of safe procedures, handling, and materials across the board. And that’s just the way we believe it should be.

Eco-friendly ≠ Compromise

We created this product so you don't have to make compromises between your health and your ethics. What if you didn’t have to make a choice between reusable and plastic?

Reusable fabric masks do not offer sufficient protection and while the traditional blue disposable face masks can, they have also created an exponential amount of hazardous plastic waste that is also hazardous to us when we are putting these on our face!. We wanted to create a better choice.

ELoMed™ eco-friendly disposable masks yield >98% BFE (while reusable fabric masks typically only yield about 30%). On top of that, our masks have a notably high breathability rate of 3.14mm H2O/cm2 (Differential Pressure).

Our masks are lab tested to ASTM Standards (F2100/F2101) and the BFE and breathability of our masks actually pass ASTM Level 2 requirements. If you would like to see our lab results, we will send them over with no questions asked. Full transparency, always.

100% Sustainably Packaged

Our bio face masks are quality assured and sealed in certified compostable bioplastic bags, packaged in fully recyclable and sustainably forested paper-based boxes, and printed with water-based ink. No oil. No Plastic. No problem.
